Father's Day is a special day for all of the papas out there. It is a day to let them know how very loved and appreciated they are.
If you are anything like me, gift giving is not your forte. Seriously, every single year I think that I'm going to do some grand gesture...then it comes down to it and I've either run out of time to order the cool thing I wanted...or I've spent the money I had allocated for something special...or we're all just tired and we end up hanging out at home. Lol. Every. Single. Year.
So...I'm trying to get this under control. And I thought I'd share some ideas with you...again, in case you're anything like ME!
Here are some links to some things I thought were cool this year (click on the word "here" next to each item to view the item!!):
1. For the dad who likes sentimental gifts:
*Make a photo book here.
*Get a leather keychain, personalized with the kids' names or a family motto here.
*Get a modern acrylic framed photo here.
*Make some Father's Day crafts with paint and kids' handprints and frame them.
2. For the health and fitness dad:
*Get him his own essential oils account here. I'll help with any questions!**
*Get this yummy antioxidant drink (moms, you can steal some!!) here.
*Sign him up for a CrossFit or other fitness session that you think he would like.
*Get him some amino acids for post-workout muscle-building and repair here.
3. For your SuperHero dad:
*Get this awesome SuperHero tee here.
*Get this framed SuperHero artwork here.
*Get this best dad shirt here.
4. For the modern dad:
*Get a docking station for his dresser here.
*Get this personalized wooden watch here.
5. For the BBQ master:
*Grab this personalized grill set here.
*Get this funny BBQ timer here.
*Love these grilling planks here.
*These 6-pack holders with opener are always a hit here.
*Love this backyard sign, here.
6. For the dad who likes the gift of time together:
*Go to his favorite restaurant and for a walk afterward. One of our faves in L.A. is Republique.
7. For the artsy dad:
*Hit up a local museum. One of our faves is The Getty.
*Buy some artwork. I'm digging some of these drawings from Restoration Hardware.
*Make and frame some of your own artwork (or the kids' art). Bonus points for using a thick white museum matting to really show off your art. I would choose a white or black frame. You can usually find online coupons for frames at Joann Fabrics.
*Buy him some art supplies (if he likes to paint, buy him a canvas and refill his favorite type of paint).
8. For the athletic/sports-loving dad:
*Buy him tickets to a sporting event you know he'd enjoy.
*Send him out for a golf day with his buddies.
*Take him to a go-kart racetrack and have some fun for the day.
*Go hiking at a local spot. Prepare a picnic lunch.
If I'm anything like my normal self, I'll probably end up with a gift card to his favorite store and a nice dinner! lol. That's an idea too! ;)
Whatever you do and no matter how much you spend on dad, what matters most is that he knows he is loved and appreciated. Have a wonderful day celebrating your special guy!
**Disclaimer: I do get paid when you sign up for a Young Living oils account. I personally used the oils for a year before deciding I wanted to be a distributor for this awesome company. :)
